Neerja, it was an eye opening experience, which has not just taught me, how to make or create Blue Pottery products but also filled me with the minute details and data about the art, which definitely enlightened me.
Working under Ms.Leela Bordia, Ms.Anuja ma'am, and Mr Gaurav sir, without whom it would have been impossible to finish my project. They pushed me and encouraged me to work and learn the craft. Also endless support and love which I bagged from the craftsmen, who helped me complete my products and made my experience worth the pain.
It was a great opportunity for me and I hope, this experience will help me in my career. I am sure it will.
The work culture at neerja is more of a family bond. No one is treated like an employee or employer but just another family member.
The company and its artisans are trying their level best to bring blue pottery to a different level and are working towards it's development.
Each and every blue pottery product has a story behind it's making which reflects the hardwork, dedication, skills and patience of the artisans behind it.
One can understand the actual hardwork after experiencing the same. Hats off to the craftsmen working on the craft and trying to give the art what it deserves.
After my experience with neerja, I have learnt to respect the art. I now feel the art needs us. Neerja is trying it's level best to give the art a major recognition in the domestic as well as the international market and bring the art back into the race. I deeply wish to do the same for the art, as this beautiful art deserves more respect and appreciation. As Indians we should nurture the crafts that are gifted to us.
